Art, migration, and empathy unite us | Arte, Migración y Empatía: la conversación que nos une
In one of our podcast episodes, I had the privilege of speaking with three talented Mexican artists: Monica Lozano, Iris Morales, and Adriana. They have created an art project that is not only visually stunning, but also addresses deeply meaningful issues such as migration and identity in the United States.
The project, titled "What Remains," is a collaboration that arises from the need to explore the complexities of migration and the experiences of migrant families along the U.S.-Mexico border. Through various forms of art, these artists invite us to reflect on our own experiences and those of those who have crossed borders in search of a new home.

Each artist contributes a unique perspective to the project, enriching it with their respective abilities to capture moments through photography and to conduct in-depth research. The combination of art and research demonstrates how art can transcend mere aesthetics to become a powerful tool for social change.
Canada will host two different activities where they will be present.
First Activity

Second Activity
The exhibition "What Remains" will be held at the The Art Gallery of Guelph (358 Gordon St., Guelph, Ontario, Canada) will host an event on May 2nd at 5:30 pm.
All members of the community are cordially invited to attend and engage in dialogue with the talented Mexican artists. This event serves as a prime example of how art can facilitate cross-cultural understanding and community cohesion.
Please note that both events are free of charge.
Arte, Migración y Empatía: la conversación que nos une.
En uno de nuestros episodios de podcast tuve el privilegio de conversar con tres talentosas artistas mexicanas: Mónica Lozano, Iris Morales y Adriana.
Juntas, han creado un proyecto artístico que no solo es visualmente impactante, sino que también aborda temas profundamente significativos como la migración y la identidad en Estados Unidos.

El proyecto en cuestión, titulado "What Remains", es una colaboración que surge de la necesidad de explorar las complejidades de la migración y las vivencias de las familias migrantes todas estas historias se llevan en la frontera de México y Estados Unidos. A través de diversas formas de arte, estas artistas nos invitan a reflexionar sobre nuestras propias experiencias y las de aquellos que han cruzado fronteras en busca de un nuevo hogar.

Desde la habilidad de Mónica para capturar momentos a través de la fotografía hasta la profunda investigación de Adriana, cada artista aporta una perspectiva única que enriquece el proyecto. La combinación de arte e investigación nos muestra cómo el arte puede trascender el mero aspecto estético para convertirse en una poderosa herramienta de cambio social.
