Velas Latinoamérica 2027: La travesía naval que unirá América y Europa
Perú hará historia como anfitrión de Velas Latinoamérica 2027
Por primera vez, el Perú organizará Velas Latinoamérica 2027, el mayor encuentro marítimo y cultural de buques escuela del continente. Entre el 17 de febrero y el 14 de agosto de 2027, más de 1.500 cadetes y guardiamarinas navegarán durante casi seis meses en una travesía que busca fortalecer la amistad, la cooperación y la diplomacia entre las armadas participantes.
Esta será la quinta edición del evento, cuya historia comenzó en 2010 bajo el nombre Velas Sudamérica. Desde 2014 se conoce como Velas Latinoamérica y se celebra cada cuatro años. Con esta edición, Perú se convierte en el cuarto país diferente en asumir su organización, después de Argentina, Chile y Brasil.
Ruta de la travesía
La ceremonia inaugural se realizará en el Callao. Posteriormente, los buques recorrerán 15 puertos de América y Europa, con escalas en Ecuador, Panamá, Colombia, México, República Dominicana, España, Portugal, Brasil, Argentina y Uruguay, fortaleciendo el intercambio cultural entre las naciones.

Clausura y futuras ediciones
La ceremonia de clausura se realizará en Brasil, mientras que el cierre oficial de la travesía tendrá lugar en Uruguay, donde Perú entregará la estafeta a la Armada Uruguaya, será la institución encargada de organizar la edición del año 2030.
Más que una navegación, Velas Latinoamérica representa un puente de amistad, diplomacia y cultura marítima entre las naciones del continente.
Velas Latinoamérica 2027: The Naval Journey That Will Unite the Americas and Europe
Peru Makes History as Host of Velas Latinoamérica 2027
For the first time, Peru will host Velas Latinoamérica 2027, the largest maritime and cultural gathering of training ships in the continent. From February 17 to August 14, 2027, more than 1,500 cadets and midshipmen will sail for nearly six months on a journey aimed at strengthening friendship, cooperation, and naval diplomacy among the participating navies.
This will be the fifth edition of the event, which began in 2010 under the name Velas Sudamérica. Since 2014, it has officially been known as Velas Latinoamérica and has been held every four years. With this edition, Peru becomes the fourth country to organize the event, following Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
The Journey Route
The opening ceremony will take place in Callao, Peru. Afterwards, the ships will sail through 15 ports across the Americas and Europe, with stops in Ecuador, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, promoting cultural exchange and strengthening ties among nations.

Closing Ceremony and Future Editions
The closing ceremony will take place in Brazil, while the official conclusion of the journey will be held in Uruguay, where Peru will officially hand over the baton to the Uruguayan Navy, the institution responsible for organizing the 2030 edition.
More than a maritime voyage, Velas Latinoamérica represents a bridge of friendship, diplomacy, and maritime culture among the nations of the continent, bringing together history, tradition, and international cooperation through the sea.
